MAYRHOF – POSITION

ORGANIC VINEYARD ON THE TOWN’S EDGE

Surrounded by vineyards and just a few minutes by car from the charming town of Brixen you will fully relax in our brand-new, stylishly furnished apartments.

Our vines are cultivated biodynamically, which is why organic building has been attached a great importance to when our farm was entirely renovated and sanitated. In the bedrooms with their clay plaster, for instance, you will have peace of mind and soothing sleep.

JUST FIVE MINUTES FROM THE OLD TOWN OF BRIXEN IN THE MIDDLE OF NATURE

Enjoy the grand view of the old town centre of Brixen with a splendid bountiful breakfast or sip a glass of local quality wine while admiring the sunset. The old episcopal town of Brixen with its multiple cultural offers must be discovered, just like the local mountain Plose, the ideal place for an activity holiday. Our organic farm is the perfect starting point for any event or excursion in the near of Brixen, or you may choose to explore the close-by UNESCO heritage of the Dolomites, either by car, public transport, by bike or on foot. Escape from frantic city life and relax amidst vines and flowery meadows. Every season has its fascination in the yearly cycle of the vine: for example, budding and blossoming in spring, or rather the golden period of ripeness and harvesting in the late summer; so being our guest you can observe all the single working steps which make a good harvest and an excellent wine, of course.

If you travel by bus or train, we will pick you up at your arrival at the train or bus station in Bressanone, and bring you back after your stay.

Only 190 meters to the nearest bus stop: The regularly running line 328 takes you conveniently to the bus station and train station. From there, you have excellent connections to the entire transport network – ideal for flexible and hassle-free mobility.
The historic old town of Brixen is just 1.3 km away and can be reached in about 20 minutes on foot—via various paths through idyllic vineyards and past historic buildings on the outskirts of the town.

There, you’ll find over 300 shops offering high-quality products and sustainable concepts—from regional specialties to stylish boutiques.

In addition, several supermarkets are located nearby, open daily and ensuring convenient local shopping.

Right from our farm, you can set out on varied hiking and mountain biking tours into the surrounding low mountain landscape—perfect for nature lovers and active guests.

For refreshment on warm days, the Acquarena adventure pool in Brixen offers indoor and outdoor areas as well as a spacious sauna complex.

For sports enthusiasts, the Vertikale climbing hall provides modern routes for both beginners and advanced climbers.

In addition, the region invites you to explore a wide range of cultural highlights—for example, a visit to the impressive Franzensfeste Fortress or the historic Neustift Monastery, known for its renowned abbey winery and baroque architecture.

Törggelen is a traditional South Tyrolean autumn custom, especially celebrated in the Eisack Valley. After the grape harvest, people gather in cozy wine taverns and farm inns to taste the new (and aged) wine. Typical regional specialties are served alongside, such as Schlutzkrapfen (filled pasta), homemade sausages, cured pork (Surfleisch), sauerkraut, and roasted chestnuts.

Törggelen is accompanied by convivial gatherings in a rustic atmosphere—often after a hike through the colorfully autumnal vineyards. This tradition combines culinary enjoyment, nature, and South Tyrolean hospitality, making autumn in the Eisack Valley an especially atmospheric time of year.

The surrounding ski areas such as Plose and Vals/Jochtal offer excellent conditions for skiing and snowboarding, with stunning views of the Dolomites. Sledding enthusiasts can also enjoy themselves on the Plose, in Villnöss, or in Vals.

For more leisurely activities, winter and snowshoe hikes through the snow-covered landscape are ideal, while ski tourers will find a variety of routes in the region. Ice skating is available at the Brixen ice rink.

During the Advent season, the charming Christmas market in the old town is also a highlight. After an active day, the Acquarena offers relaxation with its swimming pool and sauna area.
